Rigatoni Italian Greyhound Baby - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Shawnee Mission, Kansas

Rigatonis owner is not in a position to provide Rigatoni with the attention that she feels he deserves and, wanting the best for him, has, therefore, made the difficult decision to rehome him.

Approximately nine-months old, Rigatoni weighs twenty-five pounds and is full of energy. He resembles two documented Italian Greyhound/Border Collies fostered and adopted through Italian Greyhound Place and, although only speculation, that could be Rigatonis predominant breed mix. In any case, he is a fun, active dog who needs an owner available to channel his energy and provide him with physical and

mental stimulation. He is still young and can sometimes be destructive, chewing on household items such as shoes, towels, and other found items. Redirection to appropriate chew items and, as indicated, physical and mental stimulation can serve to address that.

Rigationi, or Rigi, loves to play, adores attention (lots of it!), and is treat motivated

all things that will tend to make training and working with Rigi an enjoyable experience.

This guy is housetrained to potty outside (in a fenced area and on walks) and is accident-free except for some urination when he is kenneled for the work day. Not technically accidents, Rigatoni will sometimes, if he gets scared, urinate a bit

this primarily happens if he gets scared when someone lifts him. He does tend to pull on-leash and Italian Greyhound Place will be glad to provide information on loose-leash walking.

When initially left in his crate, Rigatoni tends to cry, exhibiting, as his owner indicates, some signs of separation anxiety. He will also whine and pant for the first twenty minutes or so of car trips. These are two areas that Rigatoni will need an adopter to work with him on.

Barking only tends to occur when Rigi is playing, wants to get attention, or if he views something outside. Rigatoni is good with other dogs and very sweet with two young children who visit his home weekly. He has not been exposed to cats. Although he warms to people quickly, he can be shy when first meeting someone.

Since Rigatoni currently has a fenced yard and loves playing outside, a fenced yard in his adoptive home is preferred.

If you would like to provide Rigatoni with his forever home, please contact Italian Greyhound Place.
